I would like to thank everyone that has ridden the trails with me over the years. It has been a great experience and I have enjoyed telling people stories about the history and geology of the Badlands. Wild flowers and wildlife are always a plus to see. It was great to see the first wild flower blooming along the trail and spotting a deer or sheep while riding.
 
I have decided that it is time to retire.  My decision to retire was aided by the increasing insurance rates for trail rides.  It has become increasing hard the last two seasons to find an insurance provider to cover outfitters.  The ones that provide coverage raise their rates substantially each year.  The other factor that is impacting me (and everyone) is fuel costs.  When I started my business, diesel fuel was about $1.25 a gallon.  Now it is around $4.75 a gallon.  Over the years I have tried to keep riding costs reasonable so vacationers could afford to see the Badlands.   I have decided that rather than post large rate increases that I would be happier to retire and enjoy the memories.
